My favorite time of the year
The bells are ringing
Children are singing

Haul that tree back from the woods
Fresh cut pine will smell so good

Throw another log right on the fire the Christmas spirit just soars higher

The Captain had a twinkle in his blue eyes
He had bright red rosy cheeks
A crew that kind of looked like elves all dressed in red and green
The waves were big the wind was high
She was sailing with a bone in her teeth
Underneath that old bow sprit was a giant Christmas wreath
And its clang, clang, clang full steam ahead

It’s the Christmas Schooner bringing Christmas trees YO HO!
Dolphins played in her bow wave and whales jumped in her wake
A pelican circles overhead saying hurry for goodness sake
She was heading down south from way up north
Where the ocean it does freeze
Hauling a load of Christmas cheer to the land of the coconut tree
Is that Santa Claus at the wheel now who could say?
A mighty sailing ship or was that Santa’s sleigh?
Sailed in the harbor in the middle of the night
Left Christmas trees and cheer sailed on by morning light

Now children they have seen here from Maine to Key Biscayne

Now when you see s a Christmas tree you’ll know she’s passed your way
